FORENSICS

Forensic Science is for Intermediate/High School level kids. The teachers will be using the textbook Intro to Forensic Science by Master Books. In this course we will be going over what Forensic is and how we, as Christians, can study this field of science.

At the  heart of Forensic science is the search for truth. As Christians, we realize that only in Christ and the Word we can find true truth. John 17:17 tells us “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.” Forensics is the acquisition of knowledge gained from the evidence, analysis, and, investigator interpretations, with the goal of presenting this knowledge before individuals in the judicial system. It involves the analysis of evidence from crime scenes and other locations to develop objective findings that can be used in legal proceedings.

The objective of this course is to study forensic science through a biblical lens and learn how science clearly confirms the Bible. We will also: discover how casts are taken of shoe prints and tire marks, evaluate blood spatter patterns and how they are used to the determine origin and method, learn about arson, fingerprinting and trace evidence, examine the roles of alcohol, drugs, tools, insects as they pertain to evidence and study crime scene investigations. Some cases we will be studying are JonBenet Ramsey, Caylee Anthony, O.J. Simpson, Michael Jackson, The Unabomber, The Peterson Mystery, The Killer Clown, and Jonestown.

This class will be taught by Carli Kilgore and Addisyn Rogers. Both will be seniors, and both have taken Forensic Science in the past. They are both very excited to teach this class!
